Compliance & Security

Compliance

FINRA compliant. 256-bit encryption and SSAE No. 16 SOC 1 certified (formerly SAS 70 Type II) to ensure confidentiality in communication and stored data allowing also for audits to run much more smoothly.

WORM compliant. Data storage technology that ensures that the files and information are stored on non-rewriteable and non-erasable media--ensuring that data can’t be altered and that it meets FINRA and HIPAA requirements.

Permissions based access. You can set permission by roles or groups to ensure sensitive or confidential material and products is accessed by authorized individuals.

Security

Ugru station resides on a 10 Gig backbone network with multiple redundant bandwidth carriers and sophisticated security measures such as:

  • Generator backup power supply
  • State-of-the-art environmental controls
  • PCI compliant environment
  • 24 x 7 physical security presence
  • SSAE No. 16 SOC 1 Certified (Previously known as SAS 70)

Facility Design

You and your clients’ data is protected within 12” thick reinforced concrete walls, is able to withstand winds more than 90 mph, and located outside of flood plains and seismic zones. Building standards meet all NEBS Level 3-compliance requirements and are secured by a faux spandrel window system.

System Monitoring

State-of-the-art monitoring system provides real-time data on equipment operation, enabling easy system management and instant identification of problems. Monitoring includes power and cooling systems, as well as temperature, humidity, leak detection and fire protection.

Electrical Power Infrastructure

The electrical power infrastructure offers the following features:

  • On-site diesel fuel-based backup power generators
  • Power room is a fully independent Electrical Distribution Matrix with dual ComEd source support
  • Redundant power infrastructure on all system levels
  • N+1 configuration and 2N to customers' equipment with dual corded setup
  • N+1 MGE UPS modules
  • Best-of-breed Switch Gear and STS/PDU technology

Electrical Power Generators

The multiple generators offer a 48-hour on-site fuel capacity per generator and multiple refueling vendors are contracted to ensure all systems are always “go.”

Cooling Infrastructure

The cooling system is designed and managed to meet or exceed ASHRAE standards for data center temperature and humidity and employing an N+1 cooling configuration utilizing CRAC units and RTUs. Multiple CRAC units provide cooling for electrical rooms and private micro-suite data centers. Concurrent maintainability of the cooling infrastructure with no single points of failure.

Building Access and Security

Server’s building offers 24 x 7 on-site security and NOC staff along with an alarm system with camera surveillance covering the entire perimeter of the building, throughout the data center area and all entrances and exits. Secure entrances include mantraps, biometrics, key card access and multi-factor authentication.

SSAE No. 16 SOC 1 certified (formerly SAS 70 Type II)

Green Data Centers

UGRU has selected data centers that are as eco-friendly as possible—including: Power system components higher in efficiency and operating with reduced emissions

  • Environment-friendly building materials and design that reduce cooling demands on the facility
  • Ultrasonic Humidification Systems require less energy and create no additional heat, unlike older steam type humidifiers

Fire Detection and Suppression

The state-of-the-art monitoring system provides real-time data on equipment operation, enabling easy system management and instant identification of problems. This system includes power and cooling systems, as well as temperature, humidity, leak detection and fire protection.

Network

The server’s network boasts multiple redundant bandwidth carriers and numerous fiber entrances to the building. Multiple CRAC units provide cooling for electrical rooms and private micro-suite data centers.
